I need to go get a pump that is sitting in my sump but I’ve been so busy. Messing with the stand, working, and making sure I get my 2 hours of exercise in every day. I kinda keep forgetting to go get that pump out. Plus I don’t want to mess with the birds nest of wiring.

Yea I know the tank isn’t level. My garage isn’t very level. I tried putting gym foam flooring to see if it act as shims the padding just collapsed under the weight of the water.

So I bought a few more pieces of wood yesterday for the trimming but it had a slight twist in the wood. So I soaked it down with hot water from the water heater and stacked some weights on it hoping that the wood will dry straight

In the future, when you buy wood that you need to be straight, hold it to your eye and look down it lengthwise and only buy ones that are straight. It’s really easy to tell if a board is straight that way.

Yea I actually laid it on the ground and made sure it was straight. But I knew I wasn’t going to cut and use it in a few days. The wood was still on the wet side. I put the weights on the wood so if did start to dry it wouldn’t twist.

Worked on stand again today. Got most of the control panel done. Still need to route out the wire holes and paint the board.

The display board will come off and all the power bricks will be hidden behind.

There are 3 holes on the top of the back side.

The 2 on the out sides are for wires and the center hole is for a 3” exhaust fan.
Then a few more holes for wires on the side
log
It’s going to look a lot like my current control panel on the 150g

Did some finish up sanding and painting today.
Ran a 1000 grit disc over the whole outside of the stand. Then slapped on 2 coats of behr primer. Let that dry in the 107 temp for a hour then sanded again but with 1500g discs. Then rolled on 3 coasts of white alkyd paint.

Tomorrow afternoon I’m going to hit it with 2000g paper and see how the finish looks. I might roll on another coat or 2 of white then sand is again. Finally I’m going to pray with a polyurethane clear coat.
