So here's the big news. I was allowed to share my experience online with this new product when I get it.
So a few months back Maxspect put out a post on Facebook looking for beta testers for the new ethereal lights and the IVC6 controller. So I filled out the resume explaining how I loved the gyre pumps and stitched out all my vortechs with gyres and am completely happy with the change. I also explained how I could try out there ethereal light next to and side by side to radions.
Well feeling out the resume I was thinking I was only getting to try 1 ethereal light and the controller. Well a week ago I got an email saying they were happy if I could try 4 ethereal lights.
So here in a week or so I'll be swapping out the radions for ethereal lighting.

Ps please don't ask if I want to sell the radions. I won't even reply.

dude! This is 72x30x27? Tagging along man! Frkn nice *** tank!
Thanks sir. But it's actually 96"lX30"dX24"h.
But I like your idea of 36"d, especially on a peninsula here's why.
So when people setup a standard tank they usually stack the rocks up against the back. This gives the fish so much room in the front and gives the person room to work on corals and stuff.
Now take a peninsula, there is no back just two fronts and a middle of the tank. So when stacking rocks I don't like them to close to the glass so the corals have room to grow. I like to keep the rocks like 4-6" away from the glass. So this now gives me 22-18" of real estate were I can stack rocks. I don't like to build a straight up wall of rocks, to me it looks unnatural. So I like to try to form a pyramid in the middle of the tank. This helps so u get more places where light hits, for more coral placement.
So with a wider tank there would be more real estate to stack rocks to get a nicer effect

Ok so I really couldn't sleep last night(I wonder why ). So I got up a little early for work and assembled 2 lights and put them up over one side of the tank.
The right side is 2 ethereal's and the left is 2 radion's

Really I can't say at this time. I haven't really messed with the ethereal and I've had radions for years now
Is your plan to run the Ethereal at 100% like you did the Radions? And.. Did you, or do you plan to do any PAR comparisons?

Are you going to leave it that way as an experiment or completely switch to the ethereals?
No. I'm going to switch out all the radions.

Yea they will be at 100% for most part. I was suppose to get the par meter at the IEMAS meeting last night but people that barrow things can show up to return then.

Ok so I got 3 of the 4 lights up and running this morning.

I also got the ICV6 controller setup and running. I will say that the ICV6 is super easy to setup up and program. I literally had it hooked up and controlling the lights with in a min of powering up the controller. Also I had the lights programmed on a schedule with in 10 min of powering on the ICV6.

So as a personal preference I really didn't want the lights hanging on my euro brace. So I had an idea of what would happen if I flipped the mount around and hung the lights from the canopy.
Well I feel in love with this. It keeps the lights out of the way and no mounts in the way when doing maintenance.

I just need to zip tie the wires up and it will look pretty clean.
So for coverage the ethereal does a great job. The 4 give better coverage then 4 radions did. Here in this pic there is only 3 ethereal's

Here in this pic there are 4 radions

Notice the dead spot in the middle! This is why I ran 5 radions.
