We just got a blue sided fairy wrasse yesterday from the Corner Fish Store in Torrance. Very pretty fish. Other than a bit of bullying from our flame angel, it seems to be doing okay. It's hiding in rock work and tracking all movement, it took one mysis so far, and never leaves site of the front of the tank.

My question is, do fairy wrasses secrete a mucus? Each spot I see it hide in seems to be left with a webbing. This normal? Never had this happen with any other fairy wrasse we've had.

Normal. They create a cocoon like membrane where they sleep and hide. Nothing to worry about

Thanx guys, two days in and she is swimming around and doing well, eating each time feed. Really pretty fish. Purple head, yellow/orange sides, blue bottom and red top fin. Score for $25.
