Picked up 2 Black & White oscellaris clowns over the weekend and they are not eating. Actually I saw one nibble at some frozen brine shrimp I purchased today, but I didn't notice the other eat anything. I've tried feeding myisis and New Life Spectrum 1mm sinking pellets (confirmed eating this from seller) to no avail. I know it at times takes several days for fish to adjust to new surroundings but they're both put and about so I'm a bit edgy.

Have not tried any live foods, and they're approximately 1 1/4inches long.

Maybe I need to soak the food in concentrated garlic? I'll also check to see if vividaquariums carries live blood worms.

Just give it time, they'll eat eventually.
It's driving me bonkers Bean...lol

How are things going your way, you guys all settled in? Can't wait to see that beast of a tank up and running.

P.S. the seller has seen my post and has offered to provide some live brine....talk about superior customer service.

I've had new clowns in the past go 4 to 5 days before eating. Just wait it out they will make it. The brine may entice them though for sure.

We haven't moved yet... next month some time. Still getting the place finished but its getting there.

I had a pair of clowns that just wouldn't eat, even live brine. I was getting worried; it has been over a week. Finally, a friend of mine said to go to the Asian market and buy some fresh dead shrimp. Peel off the skins, then use a garlic press to get very fine small bits out. Put that on the end of a small skewer stick and slowly put the shrimp toward them. They turned into the most ravenous eaters you have ever seen... we named them oink and oink after that....it's been 5 years and they are both still with me. A lot of work, but considering everything I tried to that point.

Thanks for the replies everyone. They ate some baby brine, and I'll be purchasing some garlic power to soak all my foods in.

I have different pellets that have garlic in it and they go crazy for it! I also have frozen mysis and brine shrimp and tons of pods. I believe my brother still has live mysis shrimp as well. I recommend giving them a varied diet if possible so feel free to set something up with me and I'll gladly give you some different foods for them to try! Also, when I first got my clowns, I classically conditioned them to chasing my finger on the side of the tank several times then let them eat from my hand haha
