Anyone have one of know much about it. Can't seem to find much info on it except very basic specs. And don't know how long it's been around. I'm looking for a new pressure rates pump. I am currently running a barracuda gold. But electricity is a killer. The fluval sp6 is only 135 w. And says pressure rates over 10'. But just because they advertise doesn't mean it's reliable. I have About 7' of head pressure and before the vertical lift it has to go horizontal about 20'. Should I go with the sp6? Or sty with the barracuda?

I have 2 sp6's. Not much head pressure on them but they flow a ton of water.

I run a fluval sp2. Most quietest return pimp I've ever run. But the flow is definitely not as what it says. My sp2 flow is like running my ehiem 1262 on a gate valve at 65%

I'm sure it would pump the 7' up, but not with 20' of water in front of that.

I know. that's what I'm worried About. vertical push at the end of a long distance reduces pressure dramatically.

Im thinking now it's not worth bothering and risking failure . the barracuda works out to be Bout 35$ month to run. The sp6 will be about $20. So would only have me 180$ a year. I guess I'd rather stay with the proven reliability of reeflo and go with the 5 hear warranty.

Call Chris at Reeflo and ask him for a DART with the Baldor not the hybrid Dart/Snapper. 145 watts around 13.00 - 15.00 per month @ .13 per 1,000 watt's. +-........nice pumps with great customer service.

I originally inquired About thT since watttage was lower and less flow. But chris didn't recommend it. Since its not recommed as a pressure rated pump. My end result with barracuda is getting I'd say around 1600-1800 at the return. So I'm losing a lot of flow from the distance and head height. That's why i m questioning the sp6's Ability

Right on, I have a Barracuda main pump and two Dart's for close loop. Have a MaxFlo 4200 for running my reactors:) I am a fan of Chris and Reeflo like Marine Depot main supports for our hobby....they and other's keep our hobby equipment buying bar high with super customer service.

I am going to give it a run tonight. Hopefully going 1.5" on a 1.25 isn't going to slow it down tbT much.

Someone give BeanMachine a bj. He doesn't have. Lot of experience with head. Lol

My understanding is that using larger pipe is actually better since it gives less surface resistance. On my new build my reeflo dart.has a 1.5 output and I am bumping it up to 2" piping
