are you getting rid of that part of the system...? why...?
Getting ready to retire. Possibly to Arizona. I won't be able to run an outside sump / filter. Broke down and purchased a skimmer. I'll be looking for a sump to locate under my tank. Already gave my large desjardina away. will be re-homing lots of fish and corals in the future

Soooo to be clear you're giving away the tank and all the mangroves too? How is this transportable? Can you unroot all the plants and transport them more than an hour away and they'd still live? If so I can be there in the morning!
yes, they're plants... bring two buckets for the crushed coral, and throw the bare root trees into the tank while you move... go home, and plumb it...

i started collecting tillandsia and have been mounting orchids... also setting up a drip and mist irrigation system... finally investing in one... that's like an apex for a garden... movin' on up...

my dog killed all my cycads... :( i had a nice blue cycad and omg, he killed a fishtail palm tree... he's big, dumb and clumsy... while barking at the mailman, he broke it in half... but if it's a pup i'll take it... i'll just put it in a nice container until i find a huge heavy pot for it... :)

I'll break it off and put it in a pot for you. Never give up on a cycad. I had a ceratozamia pacifica that i thought was dead. about 3 years later, it started to leaf out. all of the energy is stored in the caudex
