So just woke up to my alarm telling me the powers out. Glad I bought that back up unit I've been planning on getting, not! Sunnofabiscuit! So screwed right now. On hold with SCE, don't know how long this will be. How long does the tank have? 225g luckily all the fish are sleeping

Just paid $95 at Costco for a battery backup. I just have a koralia hooked up to it for reasons like that. Will last seveel hours.

Yes, this does work, have done it several times. But yes, also went and purchased a full-size generator too, just in case.

and I've got TEN bucks that says Wicked won't buy a generator today....that cheap bastard is all talk! :dirol:

Those honda generators are thousands of dollars. No joke. If ur gunna get one just for emergencies, a harbor freight model will do fine. They just won't last as long as a Honda, but who cares, it won't be getting any real use anyways.

Those honda generators are thousands of dollars. No joke. If ur gunna get one just for emergencies, a harbor freight model will do fine. They just won't last as long as a Honda, but who cares, it won't be getting any real use anyways.

I had a batter backup as well but what if the power is out for more than 8 hours and it's 50 degrees outside, what are you going to do to heat the tank. The honda generators are great because they're so quiet, you can run one in the middle of the night and you don't have to worry about your neighbors calling the cops because your harbor freight generator is so noisy.

I'm only worried about electricity going out when I'm not home. If I'm home, I can run to my brother in laws and borrow his Honda.

Plus I've lived in my house for 3 years and the electricity hasn't gone out once. My apex has never had a power outage alert since I set it up. My House was built in 2005, so I'm not too worried.
