What T5 bulbs are were you running with the giesemann? The first set of t5's I had looked great by themselves, and the MH looked great by itself, but when I combined them, I really didn't like the look. I had to swap a few t5's to get everything to look great together.

with my phoenix, it looked great by itself... and my 2 Blue+, Aqua blue special, and purple+ all looked great without the halide on. When combined, I didn't like it at all. Everything was way too white and washed out looking. I swapped the aqua blue special for a blue+ and it made a world of difference. Mixing multiple T5 bulbs can be hit or miss, especially when combining with a halide. Sometimes you make things worse before they get better. I was lucky to replace one bulb and hit the jackpot.

Hopefully you love your new light in the long run. I still have my giesemann. I can't bear to part with it.

T5's, LEDs, halides, the mother effing sun; you know it doesn't really matter, just keep that water on point and you can get away with shining a flash light for a couple hours.

unfortunately, that's not true. Found that out first hand.

ok I think I decided....

i want to do a new ati sunpower dimmable 6x54 or a 8x54 and take out 2 of the middle t5s and have nick/luis hybrid for me..and that way i can control the shimmer and turn down your t5s if they wash out the leds.

what do you think? its really cost effective over an ATi led PM. and you can add as many led as you want

I would leave the 6xt5 in place n add 1 or 2 reefbrite XHO to yhe sunpower. Unless you get the 8 or 10 bulb. Fixture...
