My Goni frag was the size of a dime when I bought it, this is about two years of growth.
Ca alk mag :
430-450; 8.7-9.1; 1300-1350.
Feed frozen Mysis and red plankton every two days, and that’s really about it. It’s in medium par light in my tank ~200, and gets what I’d visually say is low to medium flow.

I think as long as you don’t get a colony (ball Goni) that came straight from the wild and get a healed frag they tend to do better just because they have been raised in aquariums.

I broadcast feed, and I buy it from my LFS (Law office in riverside).

Keep normal tank parameters and feed your fish. I don’t feed corals, as I find it completely unnecessary if you’re feeding your fish plenty. Iron and manganese are beneficial, especially with gonis (and other corals too). If you’re near the valley (SFV) then check out Golden State Corals, Elliot usually has a good selection of nice gonis.

Agree with Drexel, never fed my corals specifically just feed my fish I just make sure I put my return pump in feed mode so the food actually floats in the water column for longer.

I’m in oc un fortunately. Hopefully there are some well known lineage of Goni around in the lfs or in hobbyist tank. I think I got the typical dark art and ora red and Kevin highlighter. They have been doing well for me. The random wild ones have not done well for me so looking for well known lineage if anyone knows or have any.

Lots of great looking gonis.

My record with goni is not great. I have one that is doing amazing on the sandbed. And another one that is dying with 1 polyp left. Still holding out hope that it can recover!

What do you guys think about Reef Lounge USA Anaheim Goni? Are they wild colonies fragged down or aqua cultured pieces? Any experience with them?

I've had a lot of success with gonis, keeping them in 150-250 par, with any kind of flow. They definitely do better with trace elements dosing

I've been growing goni for years. Wild are a 50/50 aquaculture is obviously best. I didn't feed for years, but have started over the last 7-8 years started feeding reefroids and switched to benpets with slightly faster growth. i feed 2-3 times a week, both direct or broadcast. Normal water parameters, and placement bottom.

I have stopped spot feeding corals, but I do add Reef Roids to my frozen food. To broadcast feed. I agree with the advice to dose manganese and iron. Iodine dips are good if the Goni is showing signs of decline.

I've stopped trying to keep goni's. I find them very finicky. Can't keep them alive long term.

Ditto - I got 3 frags of them but they don't grow much in my tank! Good news - they are not dead though...

I can’t seem to keep the amazeballs Goni alive for some reason. My other ones are doing well. I’ve tried the amazeballs a couple times but they just seem to die off after a couple months.
