More hungry Tangs? (maybe a kole or a sailfin). Cut down some lighting time? these have worked for me in the past... Also cut down a bit on feeding, of course.

Parameters? That stuff takes off with just a tiny bit of phosphate. Does your cousin run GFO? check nitrates how old are his/her bulbs if they're running t5 or CP.

He's running rowa. Using leds. Phosphate high. Rock is about 10 years old. I'll probably tell him to do lights out first and then more wc and gfi changes

My Tank Build

John the sad truth is he's most likely going to have to bake the phosphates out. The phosphates r locked in the rocks and r slowly leaching out. Then u say the rock is 10y. It could take forever to get the phosphates out of the rocks. I've always heard the double the years rule. So if the rock has been in high phosphates for 10y it could take 20y to get the phosphates out while in a tank.

If he has a good skimmer he could try nopox or if he has room under the tank try an ATS.
