update... i ordered some plants from bob's tropical fish... when i got there, i decided not to buy any of the ones i ordered... LOL... someone else would buy that... hahaha...


so, i finally got plants.. i couldn't do anything until i got plans in the tank... so today was the day... yay...



after staring at my tank every day and moving the rocks around like 20 times, i decided to leave it like this... since there is another tank on the way (hopefully soon) i will put all the other rock into that one...



here's what i picked up...



a java fern, 3 dwarf amazon sword and 3 tissue cultured staurogyne repens... i thought it was a lot, but it was actually perfect for what i needed it... well, here are pics...






planting sucked... took like 45 minutes... longest 45 minute ever... my back was all hurting... hated it... and it was a lot of work... especially getting the rock wool out... whatever, here's progress pics...







right now i'm making more RO/DI to finish filling it up... i didn't know i would get plants today... i thought he said saturday... i'll post a picture of the tank with all of it's water...

i just don't want to use something so permanent for the aquariums... so brown PVC it is....

those bulbs are not energy efficient

well, here's a shot... nitrite is still at 0.2 but ammonia finally went down... so no fish yet... but her's a picture from the other day.. total trip because the plants were already growing the next day... i also started getting algae... i guess my light is very strong, so i started dosing excel... lame...

my light is 12W led bulb from amazon... it's a screw on type with like a projector type LED...

foreground plants are staurogyne repens, background is dwarf amazon sword and a java fern plant... i am dosing excel right now... i didn't dose anything for the cycle at first... i sould've since this soil releases a ton of ammonia... but now i'm using quick start... i should be ready for fish this week... i'll go pick up some tetras and put a nice beta fishin there..
