Hello Reefers!!! My name is Aidan, I'm a lead at the Petco in Yucca Valley and I manage all the animals. I'm 19 years old and I'm trying to learn as much as I can about reef keeping and got the job so I could meet people and do just that. I'm setting up my first reef tank, a 75 gallon mixed reef tank and will share my progress on here. I have several mentors helping me start my journey in the world of reef keeping. I'm striving towards making it both a lifestyle and a business. I have access to quarantined coral and fish and will begin to post them for sale on here. I look forward to connecting with the community and continuing to learn.

Hi Aiden. welcome. i’d offer my unsolicited advice: don’t make it a hustle. we have too many hustlers in this hobby as it is. just learn the hobby first and enjoy it as a hobby. If you’re going to be buying and reselling livestock regularly, you should sign up as a vendor here and support the website.

There is a. Store in town that does. Reptiles and fish, but not a good one. My friend stop going because their care for the animals was so bad.

There’s not many but after a while of working over here I’ve managed to meet a few and share ideas and everything. Petco is the only shop that consistently carries saltwater. There’s fins n fangs but as mentioned they’re care is lacking and their saltwater section is minimal. But I would like to spread some reefkeeping culture up here and meet more hobbyists.
