Hello I am James and I am from Lake Forest in Orange County
Among my five aquariums I have 3 saltwater and two fresh. My 60g fresh is a fully automated with chiller high light & auto dosed & injected planted tank run at 73degrees. I breed angles out of a 40g planted tank. I have a 50g Starfire Rimless SPS cube with a 20K MH and Kessils. My nano is a 20g with mostly acans, favias, fungia, and assorted LPS with some bright softies. I also grow my chalices out in my nano that has a 20K A150 Kessil with T5 lighting overhead. They prefer the nano than the cube. Got some nice zoanthids as well of course.
I have had an aquarium for as long as i remember since my first 10g at 8years old. I now have a few more and have been in the industry a little while now having a job at two socal retail fronts. when I'm not working at the store I probably have my hands in one of my many maintenance accounts or am close by a captive reef.
I have received formal education in marine biology and chemistry and have real-world experience in reef keeping from personal mistakes, time in the industry, and observation of dozens of established eco-systems.
Reefkeeping is a hobby that has extended into a lifestyle for me and it is how I pay my bills. It's evolved into something far more than simple observation and basic google searches.
I love everyday of it and look forward to being a participaiting member on these forums. I look forward to getting to meet fellow local reefers and learn from everyone's experiences!
Reef on!
