I see your future: driving to fullerton , you are gonna be driving to see The man at Cherry Corals. Call and ask him if he has what ya need or at least a new pump or upgrade pump. Attman right?

What is the benefit of an upgraded pump and how is it better? Might as well upgrade if it will fit...
Energy efficiency, and if the pump is higher quality it will most likely pull more liters of air per hour, causing a higher bubble refraction rate. = More foamy goodness for less energy

That skimmer is beast so if you can find a betta' pump, I'd do it. I liked the attman with the regular plastic wheel not mesh. I think there's a thread on RC tht people modded that swc

The former socal tropical carries the atman pumps with the newer needle wheel impellers. At least that is where I got mine a 5- 6 months ago. I Think they are now called sexy corals but give them a call and see if they have the pump you need in stock

My pump is the needle wheel not the mesh wheel one btw. It think its a beast especially compared to my last skimmer. I was getting daily cup filling of dark green, and no nitrates or phosphates. Took a while to dial it in, but i would definitely recommend it to anyone with a 50 or less gallon tank. Heavily stocked of course, i think it can handle up to 90 lightly stocked.

I had to order my ceramic shaft from Canada it cost more to ship then it did to buy and after all that the pump still didn't work right. I think if you can fit a bubble blaster you will like it. I think I'm going to go with the tunze. Everyone says it supper quite and that's a big thing for me. Every other thing I have used from tunze was very well made and I'm sure there skimmer pumps are also. Good luck with your skimmer I hope to here good things

I have dozens of spare impellers and impeller shafts. If you can give me an exact size I'll go look.

I have a used Euroreef RC135 in great shape for $100 if anyone is interested

You can't beat the quality for the price! They are very comparable to the SWC line but SOOOO much better in every aspect! They have excellent pumps that are very energy efficient and a great bumper to bumper Warranty on the whole skimmer that can't be beat. They designed their own pumps and many other skimmer companies have tried to get them to sell their pumps to them for their own line of skimmers but CAD Lights knows what they have is great and won't sell to the competition.

I know where you can by atman pumps in SoCal but they're expensive AND notorious for having continuous problems so you'd be spending a lot of money only to risk having the exact same problem again.

I had the same problem with a SWC-160. I bought a new impeller (which cost almost as much as the pump would've) and it didn't end up being my problem. I still ended up having to replace the pump and ended up having issues with it again in the future. In the end, I wished I would've just replaced the entire skimmer with a CAD Lights one.
