As for what's in your sump, I don't have any in my system(or not that I've ever seen), but I have seen them in systems at several LFS. They do look like little lobsters or shrimp. I suppose they're fine to have.

alk was 6, all other params on the spot.
6 is bad. You need to get a 3 part system going for supplementing if you want to do Sps and coral. Wether it is by hand or a doser you have to get in a daily regimen.

You could just do Kalk in your ato and the would take care of the small amount of coral you have. You would then only need to add magnesium once a week.

Well I do 20g weekly water change on this. Is that not sufficient enough for replenishing the used up nutrients? And I dose alkalinity 8.3. Maybe I'll look into reactor or doser.

What salt are you using. I would say that 8.3 ph buffer crap is just a buffer and nothing else. You need soda ash or another source of alkalinity to keep it stable.

20 gallons in how many gallons total?

Check out bulk reef supply and get your self a dosing pump so you can be consistent. I would also get in the habit of testing your alk and calcium more often. Once you get your dosing machine you test while you get to your prime. In my case to maintain 200 gallons of water at the right levels, I need to dose 185ml of calcium, 175 ml of alk, and 18 ml of magnesium per day dosed in 12 parts.
