A cup of bleach? Wow, way more than I use. I guess I don't use nearly enough lol. I just add like 3-4 caps full, that probably turns them white like new I'm guessing. How many socks per load?

yup... cup of bleach, large sized load, hot water only... i've even washed 1 sock at a time that way... lol... i need to stop doing that... then i throw them in the dryer, and then hang them somewhere so all the bleach can evaporate completely... i hang them somewhere with shade, but still drafty...
This is too much work for me. I just bought a little trash can at the 99 cent store, some little plastic baskets that go inside where I put carbon in and at the top egg crate that covers the entire area. I bought like a ten foot roll of filter pad for 20 bucks (found some on cl now for10) and cut out a piece to cover the top. when it gets dirty I just toss it out and cut a new piece. The cost of the filter pad vs water electricity and work mehh... plus the socks stink pretty bad to keep around till you have enough to wash. . Just my 2 cents
I use oxyclean which I've found to be easier on the socks than bleach. Years ago I put a sock in a bucket of bleach to soak, forgot about it, and came back to one kinda dissolved sock, lol.
On my patio, garden house them down 5 at a time, inside out, then outside. Takes 10min, twice a week. 10 gallons of water goes to my lawn, i let them sun air dry 2-3 days, pick some fruits, check sprinkler system.

I usually wash my filter socks Inside out with a cup of bleach and cycle once in washer than flip them back to normal and do a rinse cycle again. Throw them in the dryer then hang dry after.
