I really do not want to go with LEDs alone since it's not enough spectrum for the corals (SPS will brown out in the long run), so I decided to go with Hybrid T5 & LEDs. I have couple fixtures in mind but I do not know which one to choose.

Arcadia OT2-LED from UK. It control T5 & LEDs dimmable.

Blau Lumina LED Plus T5 hybrid aquarium light from Germany.

SFILIGOI Genesis Hybrid T5 with LEDs. I want custom made 5 Modules in the middle with 4 T5 80w with RGB 3w LED Green/Red/Blue (3 blue and 2 white modules). All of them are dimmable

yeah, I realized this too. I was thinking of AI LEDs + T5 ATIs on Icecap 660...I like to use commonly available stuff because when it breaks down...

I feel the T5 dont need to be dimmable just on full blast after the LEDs have fully ramped up. The LEDs alone are more than capable of a shimmery dusk/dawn effect.

I decided to go with SFILIGOI name since it's more popular in US. I placed an custom made order for the SFILIGOI GENESIS 150 T5 4x80w + 5 LEDs Modules (3 Blue & 2 white) with RGB LEDs on the blue Modules. I also asked for the custom Ferrari Red color for my lighting fixture.

Here is the sample fixture with this color I will get in 6-8 weeks.

that is fine fixture... for $4Gs they should paint the ferrari horse on it for you...wow!

im going with 6 AI sol blue modules and 2x 80w T5 ATI purples to get that 550-660nmn on apex control... all going in my canopy... $3Gs... I might add 2x80w aqua flora... we'll see...

a bunch of smarties on the east coast already worked the settings out...

say a prayer for me when I swap out the MHs... I'll do the same for you...

This hobby is so expensive. I have been changed many bubble king skimmers and lighting fixtures in the last 2 years. Very time I have changed the equipment I lost the money. Oh, well I hope this time is the last time I make the right move.

4Gs seems like a chunka cheddar, but its really hard to light a larger tank with LEDs for much less. and long waiting list for most decent LEDs.

recall in 2007 PFO solaris came out and it cost $4g for the 72inch model. it was extremely dim, killed most coral, always broke down, and they still couldnt make them fast enough...then 2yrs later the company went out of business, LOL!

LOL :)

You are misreading me. I am happy for you. I just went with the really common stuff, because like I said its simply less headache if and when they breakdown. In the end I spent as much as you.

My AIs (6units) and T5 retrofit came in 2 weeks ago. After seeing the look, the T5 purple fijis are not needed, and probably dont do anything for growth on coral reef tanks. Thats what Aqua Illumination told me also.

I just set up really long ramp times, like according to that 84-page thread on RC. People are seeing great growth and dazzling colors for their SPS when they really respect PUR, not PAR on the AIs.

I also set up LED grow lights for my fuge.

I'm waiting for the AI nano to come out for my attached frag tank.

Then I will have gone with ALL LEDs, including the marineland doublebright for my FOWLR, and LED light strips in my stands and salt water mixing station. ALL LED and my electrical usage cut by 75%. Chillers and fans are hardly ever on. I love it.
