First, I am interested to see if other reefers are having problems with the Evolution pumps suddenly going into reverse flow.

Second, In the last few months I have had a Evo 750 and a 1050 impeller shaft magnet sieze into each pump. Both pumps under two years old.

I have 3 Hydor 4's that have been running now for over 3 years with no problems.

I had a cover break, which caused the impeller to spin backwards on one of my 1050s. I contacted Hydor throufh their website, and they mailed me 2 covers at no charge.

Hydor sent me about 8 covers so far within the last 14months of owning my Hydors, Best bang for the buck pumps, but I've moved on and upgraded to tunze's 6055 now. If you have them on continuously they will last forever, but not on a wave maker. With a 30sec interval, i would go through a new cover every 3months.

I emailed them through their website last week regarding this and have not heard back from them. I just wrote them another email today.

I feel this is a major problem they are having with theses pumps. I went online to buy replacement impeller/shaft/magnet and no one had them in stock. This tells me I am not the only one with this issue.

If the flow goes reverse just unplug and plug them back on... Had mine for 3 years and no issues...
