the plastic it is made from is very thin. but it seems like it is going to work well. I also think if it had an air stone at the bottom it would work better(the air just comes out of a cut piece of tubing). the light is very bright and red. I had to peel away the black sticker off the back of the nano cube and clean the glue off. that was the only hard part. I would think that running the light 24hrs would be best but they say start at 8hrs a day and move up 2hrs a week until you find the right amount that grows best. I also rubbed some hair algae on the screen to seed it. I will put up a few pics when I have a chance.

Are you using the bubbler? What I always worried about with the bubble is salt creep. LMK how it works out. I thought about using one in my nano as well

what is the single LED being powered by? closer pic? what kind of heat sink is it. I wanted to build one and was thinking of using a computer heatsink since they can be found easily.

this is the light. you can see the heat sink it is a 3w red. I have had to do some adjusting to get the bubble to flow evenly over the screen. I think I have it worked out now but I am still thinking about replacing the cut up tubing with an air stone to get a more even spread of bubbles

I have the scrubber set about a half inch below the top of the water and im getting a lot of splash up on the light cover. doesn't seem like it will be a problem as of right now but I will keep an eye on it. I could also move it up to where the top of the scrubber is out of the water I think this will cut down on the water splashing.
