It's pretty sweet but I'm completely sold on it being a solon wrasse, the lines the length of the body make me skeptical...

Definitely a Cirrhilabrus, but which one?

color variant? Markings look identical? Here's another pic of the Velvet Multicolor Fairy Wrasse. Solons don't have that stripe.

for that price, I have no idea, except that you got a smoking deal. Though the stripe still makes me lean toward the velvet multicolor... Nice pickup...

OT: I bought a Christmas wrasse the same day and he has been in the Sand for 4 straight days.

Is this normal?

I know they love sand and in holding there was none. So is this guy just resting, taking a weed nap, submarining?

OT? This is a wrasse thread, and your thread, so there is no such thing as OT...:focus:
Totally nothing to worry about, my first canary wrasse stayed under the sand for a week. If you're anxious to know, stirring the sand will do it no harm, it will pop out once you are in the vicinity... :usa2:
