I went to IMAC today. It's incredible. The admission price is even lowered to $ 5 and the best thing the parking was FREE with Validation.

Well worth the admission fee....the goody bag is great. I got couple of bottle from Reef Nutrition Samples and some nice palys at incredible dirt cheap price.

CORALS THERE ARE REALLY CHEAP....BUT.....NOBODY'S BUYING.

Here are some pictures:

I don't buy that much because I am in the verge of taking my tank down and possibly moving.
I got only about 7 frags of Zoas.....
Not too many rare stuffs there. Most of the one I want has been SOLD.
Reefkoi has some nice stuffs...but they all sold out. Bummer.

May be IE-CFM next month will be a better event.

Any picture of the stuffs you got today.

Maybe next year they will know not to charge $29 for one day exhibit only. I usually bring my wife with me who has no interest in coral/fish so now we are talking almost $60 to get in.

I was waiting for more than 1/2 hour to meet the owner of Fantastic Frags..... He is MIA. The booth is empty. Corals for free anyone......:loldude:

Ha..sorry about that. I was there, but we had so few people at the booths I spent most of the day talking to other vendors. Ill be at CFM though, that should be busy, so Ill be at the booth the whole day. Oh yeah, and we were in the green shirts that said Fantastic Frags on them :D

Big bummer that more people didnt show, there was a who's who of speakers there and so cal missed it. Many of the speakers were quite bummed that they couldnt draw out the crowds in so cal...i even heard one say that we are the toughest crowd to motivate unless the stuff is free...not a good rap to have.

Sad but true Paul... just read all the IMAC related threads.

The SoCal crowd could care less about the hobby beyond the tank in their living room. They'd rather buy frags... as long as they're cheap

I at least got a ton of time to talk to those guys, since no one else was there. I got to talk to Copps for a good half hour today, as well as Sanjay. Talked to the spectra pure guys forever and the teco guy. Learned alot since I was the only one asking them questions.

Paul,
See ya at the CFM. You really have a nice setup there. I like that ATI fixture you got there.

Man the speakers were great! Where were some of you?? They gave away a TON of Bada$$ raffle prizes too. I had a great time and can't wait for the new and improved IMAC next year! See you all at CFM...

Yeah, it must have been a bummer to fly all the way here to speak to less people than a club meeting.

Hopefully the lessons learned this year will make all socal events a little better; the show was beautifully laid out, spacious and had lots of the top names in the industry...just a bad time of year, bad economy and a price that may have scared people off

They are already making adjustments to the event, hopefully the next event will be a great success!
