Hi all, looking to get a head count on who would be interested in participating in an sps growout competition.

Please reply below in this format:
1. Username
2.
3.

Depending on which sps is decided upon; the entry would likely be $100-150 per participant
I have a handful of colonies we can choose from, and once there is enough interest, I will post a separate poll for selecting the specific growout coral
The contest will run a full 12 months and at the end I will choose the top 5 to vote on, the winner(s) will be decided by forum members via poll
I'm thinking a frag tank & stand for first place, but we can go over the prize details once there is enough interest

Visited Jason last week. Dude runs a super tight ship over there - super clean facility and dead quite systems.

I'm excited for this! I'm definitely in if there's room, but amateur when it comes to sticks. So I'm down, but happy to give up my slot for more serious entrants if it comes to that.

Since this is interest poll I'm putting myself down still since I 100% will join if there's room.

depending on which colony we go with, I estimate we can have between 20-40 participants so you are good to go. (y)

My tank has zero additives, zero dosing, and zero water changes so I would be shocked to keep SPS alive. Oh btw: my N&P are off the charts so hope we’re not judging by color? Mine would be so dull! ;)

With good flow and adequate lighting there is hope!

Almost feel like I’m a sucker for Fantasy Football picks but I’m confident it will be fun!

My 150g cube has 3 MP40s and 2 XR30 G6 Blues. Hope that will be enough. ;)
I think the odds will be better than fantasy football.. haha
Sounds like you should be able to keep sps with your hardware. I will add my parameters in the official thread, but I honestly don't think it makes too much of a difference, I've seen monster sps tanks with some wild numbers

sounds like fun but my sps grow sooo slow.:(

@Dooly, can you please clarify what you mean by chosing the top 5 and also members voting? since it's a grow out contest, I'm guessing the bigger size wins or is voting necessary only if it's a close call?

it will depend on the total number of participants, but I'm planning on choosing the top 3-5 that have the best growth & coloration and post them in a separate thread/poll so that SCR members will get to decide which of the finalists win the competition. if it's not close and someone grows their entry frag to a rainbow colony then the separate thread will not be needed :)
