Is 1/2" plumbing too small for a missing station?

That's true.. I'd just hafta make sure I have enough above the elbow to begin the siphon.. Wonder how much above it would need to be to start?

If you drill on the bottom and come out at about a 45degree angle you could use one of these elbows to level out.

Thanks :) was thinking of that.. But it would still put pressure on the seal I think , when I turn handles etc.. Not sure if it would compromise the seal if pipe gets pushed downward ?

Then I'm back to original question .. Is 1/2" gonna be a pita for filling/ wc/ eventual connecting of barrels w a pump to transfer water between jugs for mixing?

No personal experience, but I think it would be painfully slow.

Then again.. 2 min per jug.. I can prob live with that I think . Maybe... Lol
Think 1/2" will be a pain to continue the plumbing later to connect barrels w an external pump?

How are you plumbing it? Is there a reason for not putting a pump on it?
here a top down plan ..
Will plumb to pump from fw to sw barrel for mixing . Planning on just chucking a pump attached the a long hose in the top for remote water changes.

This is how I had mine plumbed. I would close the valve going to the lid and open the one by the barb fitting. Then just open the valve to whatever can I wanted water from.
I dont know if that makes sense haha. It worked great for me though.

Nice and straightforward! I may copy that top fill idea! Less bulkheads to screw around with! :)

Yes, Left was salt water, and the right can was rodi.

With this setup you just have to be careful to never have both bottom can valves open because then you will mix both cans. I think it would be the same with your drawing also.

Sorry thats why I was asking about how you were going to plumb it was because I used 1/2" pvc but it fed through my pump so I was able to dump all 20 gallons within 2-3 min.

That's not too bad.. Mine are 58g .. But oh well :) I'll b patient lol My only concern then is the gravity fed jugs taking all day.. And of course, wether the angle of the pvc coming out of curved bottom will stress uniseal too much .. ?

Here's a question.. Using your setup mainly.. If I had the holes drilled about 12" from bottom of barrel ( to allow for flat placement)
If I added an elbow and drop pipe to the inside to reach the bottom... Would the middle pump still suck all the water from the barrel to go into the other barrel? ( I'd probably hafta elevate pump to bulkhead level ) Or do pumps just push water?
An I making sense? Lol

Kinda like this setup ..
Or would the pump hafta be inside the barrel pumping it to the outside?

It would pump out only if no air goes into the pipe that is between the barrel and the pump. Honestly, I think it would be kind of difficult to drain the whole barrel the way you want it. Unless you start with a water level above the elbow and dont stop until you empty the barrel.

I may just have to plumb for fill ups only . Then just settle for a pump/ hose inside one to transfer over to other for mixing .
