if you have enough water pressure feeding into the RO membrane this is normal. check to see if you have a TDS at 0 or close to 0. i use to have really bad waste to water ratio about 4:1. at that time i only have around 45 psi going into the membrane. i added a booster pump with another membrane in series with the current membrane. set the pressure to 80psi and i was getting 1:1 waste water ratio.

Your waste water should be at least 3:1 meaning 3 gallons of waste water per 1 gallon of RO water. Yeah its alot of waste. I keep my waste water in a large barrel and water my plants with it. Some people leave their waste line to their pool or ponds. The waste water is not really dirty. Its just a few points higher than regular tap water.

it's a spectra pure came with tds meter but says o.oo in & o.oo out wtf?
1:1 water ratio is actually considered very good among ro systems..

The reason for 0 reading at both in and out is that a dual Tds meter is taking readings from after your ro membrane and then again after your di resin.. Your di resin is only meant to give it the final polish.. You wouldnt want the reading to be anything over 20 incoming or you will quickly exhaust your di resin by forcing it to do all of the Tds removal. Dual Tds meter does not read incoming water Tds from your tap which Im assuming is well over 200 and maybe as high as 500.. 0 in and 0 out is normal when there is a new ro membrane because it's doing 100% of the Tds removal along with your sediment and carbon block before reaching your di chamber..

Hope this helps...
