800g...?

how many are you planning to have...? unless you have a huge quad vortex chamber filtration system, you shouldn't have more than 4-5 koi fish....

if i were you, i would invest in two pairs of premium koi... i used to get them from a breeder in SGV... 150 per 16" japanese koi... or 200 for a real import... there is a huge difference in japanese koi... some will breed true... the american farm raised koi don't always keep their color... i had some chagoi that turned into ogons after a year... wack...

but if you just want whatever koi, hit up ebay or craigslist... the season is almost over for outdoor acclimation though... you better hurry up and get them like, now...

Yeah I have been looking on craigs. Everyone thinks they have like prized 200$ koi. And I only have 2 12" koi right now, have had them for 3 years, both all white

um... in OC i know there used to be a goldfish show that would rock in westminster college... but this was years ago... wait... i think there's a koi club too... nishiki or something... let me search...

http://www.nishikikoiclub.com

hit them up... they'll point you in the right direction... but be warned... the koi pond hobby is slightly bigger, better and more expensive than the reef hobby... LOL...

I know someone that imports very nice koi. Premium stuff, he also has ones with lower price tags. I Installed ponds for a number of years and would get some real nice ones from him. PM me if you want his number

Check the local koi clubs, Most of them have rescue programs where club members are leaving or selling their homes and they provide the koi for free. Good Luck

I used to get mine at Andrew Koi international in garden grove on brookhurst and Katella or eastern nishiki on Westminster on hazard and golden west. I believe both are still there.

Love them koi. I used to have a 2000 gallons pond for about 15 years. Recently it leaked and we decided not to repair. Gave all 5 kois that had been with us that long.

It's a good deal but they look like they lost their color.
koi don't have any color much when you see them from the side... worst way of selecting koi....

also, they will lose color if they don't get any sunlight... that's about it... low quality serama will fade or change color over time...
