I've always seen smaller sized bristle worms in my tank, and never worried because I figured they help out as a clean up crew. For the last week, the largest of my mushroom corals has been shrunken up. At first I thought maybe its splitting, moving, pissed off, etc. Well today I noticed a pretty big bristle worm (1/4"-3/8" wide, who knows how long) crawling in the rock behind it.

Could the worm be the problem?

And do those tube shaped, plastic worm traps really work?

Also, my Mandarin sleeps right nearby. Should I be concerned?

I don't like them and I always get them out....touch one and just see what it will do to your finger
Go in with a flashlight after lights have been out and tweeze him out. Or put a net in the tank atnight wwith food wrapped in it they get stuck to it usually and cant get off.

You may be able to just grab the bristle worm in the dark and pull it out if you know where it hangs out. Those little worm traps wouldn't be big enough... panty hose would work well.

How do you set up the pantyhose trap?

Hey Bean, off subject, but what's up with the SCRK website? Its never updated.
Put some shrimp or a silverslide into it and throw it in.. they may get in but they can't get out. Maybe cut the top off a cup and tie it to the opening so it stays open a little? Probably a few different ways would catch it.

Yeah sorry about that. We plan to have a membership drive meeting Sunday January 22nd. We will have new cards, a raffle, and hopefully Rob finds a speaker. We should have it figured out in a couple more days.

Cool, thanks. That clears up the obvious, lol.

Right on, I'll try and make that meeting.
