Hi all,

I'm planning to get the new light for my jbl 24 gallons tank. I have been using Finnex light, and I see some corals such as Bambam doing good, but Sunny D is not doing so well. I see them stretching their bodies up. Does it mean that the light I'm using is not good enough for them? The light is mainly white color.
I see people recommend the Kessil lighting is good for nano tank. If that the case, which one is best for my tank? I just want to keep some soft and basic lps corals, nothing expensive.
Here is a pic of my current tank now.
Dimension: 23x15x15.5
The tank has been running around 7 months with 10% water change every week. Tank has 3 chambers in the back:
- first chamber: return pump and heater
- second chamber: gfo and bubble protein skimmer
- last chamber: I put some eggcrate in there and put a thin sponge in there to help cleaning the water. I clean the sponge and skimmer cup every 2 days. Any suggestion for last chamber since people say sponge is not good for saltwater. Some people put some small rocks in there as refugium. Is it a good idea?
I'm new to salt, so I really appreciate with all comments and feedbacks to make my tank better.
Thanks all
Trung

i would get a kessil 360we, the shimmer is amazing and it will grow corals. it will cost more money but at least if you planning to upgrade your tank you can always keep the light instead of selling and buying a new one.

I had something something similar a few years back. I was on a budget and used two par30 led bulbs. It's really up to your budget, never hurts to get a rockin' light fixture !

Thanks everyone for feedbacks. I really appreciate that.
I went over to my friend's house last night, and I saw he uses the Hydra 26 for his 30 gallons tank with all good looking sps ones. Do you think the Hydra 26 is good for my tank?
Thanks all.

I would go with the hydra 26 or the radion xr15. Both of those are great lights. Your tank looks very healthy, it deserves a nice quality light fixture.

I will do more research on the Hydra 26 before purchase. I'm gonna build the stand for the tank, and move it out to the living room with new scape. I'm going to give away all the live stocks and restart everything again.
