I'm constantly battling low ph in my nano ... my calcium, mag, and alk are all in good shape. Ive read a little about kalk in my top water but I'm not sure if that's sketchy in a nano or not... i don't have an ato, I normally have to add about half a gallon in fresh top off a day. What would you suggest I do... my ph is normally 7.8 , but I would like to keep higher

I would say no to topping off kalk water by hand. But if you don't have a life and are home every day it will work.

7.8 ph at night is fine. And even in the day, it's not ideal. The tank will adapt and it won't be an issue. Obviously 8.0-8.3 would be nice but it's not a must.

I think your tank probably doesn't get enough oxygen exchange and thats why the CO2 levels are higher. Agitating the surface with a powerhead on the water will oxygenate and break up some cO2. If the room your tank is in is small or cooped up, that also plays a factor. Cracking a window helps this.

This. And if you have the heat on in the Ouse this wont help. Open a nearby window and get some surface agitation going. And take off the lid or open it at least for a bit.
