I wanted to start a build thread to document the progress of my latest project. I took some time off from the hobby when I started college, but now I'm back and really enjoying the hobby again. I've always liked the size of 20 gallon longs and I love to do DIY projects, so I decided to do a 20 gallon long diy setup. Tank has been running for 6 weeks now and it was seeded by another established system.
The tank.
Standard 20 gallon long from petco.
-drilled for 3/4 inch drain and diy corner overflow
-diy 10 gallon sump
Equipment
Lighting- 4 bulb tek t5 fixture with ati coral plus and blue bulbs
- 12 watt led stunner strips for led supplement
Skimmer-Eshopps s-150 skimmer
Two little fishies 150 reactor running GFO
Via Aqua 100 watt titanium heater
DIY dual float switch ATO unit
Running Purigen and Carbon in sump
Coming soon( Apex Controller ) really pumped on this!
Dosing with Red Sea program and Acropower
Livestock
Fish and Inverts:
Flame Angel
Mandarin Dragonet ( Accepts a variety of foods. I spot feed him mysis and coral frenzy mixture once a day)
Tail spot blenny
Peppermint shrimp
Fire shrimp
Cleaner shrimp
