All or just the one that they live on? Cus they haven't got to my nicest one yet.
Can you see the underside of the monti? MikeT had them real bad and said they worked from the underside/base first so he didn't notice them for some time. The problem is the eggs are more difficult to see and can be in the tank for many weeks I think before hatching... He did a crazy dipping regimine and setup a separate QT tank and all.

Got any pics?

I had these guys in my tank too. I had a nice piece of red monti growing off a piece of LR that I had to pretty much destroy breaking off to get it out of my DT. You'll need to remove ALL your monti caps out of this tank if you really want to get rid of these guys...pretty much have to starve any survivors. Be careful removing the pieces not to blow any nudi's off. Then, you'll have to scrub or even remove any infested areas with Revive (I'm pretty sure it's Revive?). Anyways, if you feel or are unsure that you might not have removed all these pests and their eggs (which are almost impossible to see) off the infected pieces, then I'd toss them. :( It's not worth putting them back into your DT. I scrubbed mine down, trimmed off any really bad areas that were suspicious and put the left over piece(s) into my QT tank. That was about 3 months ago. It's been growing in there just fine w/o any issue. I could put that piece back into my DT now if I wanted to.

Always keep a good eye on these pieces in your DT. I hope my story helped. Good luck.

Thanks it makes sense. How long till I can buy new monti's after I take mine out and starve the little f**kers?
I'm not sure what the incubation period is for the eggs or how long these guys live...sorry. But if it was me? I'd wait for at least 1 month...maybe longer.

Oh...and if you do put another piece back in.... glue it on a plug so you can remove it periodically to inspect up close...and even clean again if necessary. I've already had to do this on my new pieces a few times just to make sure (even though there was no "obvious" visual damage)

I dipped them in coralrx and I found 2. That's all. But idk if there's any more or not. Poor monti looks worse every day.

OIC, yeah best is to remove them all unfortunately unless you are prepared to setup a QT and dip over and over again.

Although the m spongodes are nice, its pretty common so I'm sure you'll find another.

You just have to be willing to take the risk is all. Its possible, but not guaranteed they are not on that piece as well. The problem is say they laid some eggs off the cap... they hatch in three months... then they happen to find your other piece. You know what I mean?

Toss them all. Your peace of mind is worth it. I got rid of them all. Instead of throwing them away I posted a freebie thread and someone left with a 20 gallon cooler full of nudi infested montis. ( I wonder if he was able to save em? I dont remember who took them but it was someone from this board.)

3 months later I started again and the montis have been fine ever since.
