My Tank Build
#24
I had these guys about a yearago. Took piece by piece out. Finilly when I had a hand full left I took them out. It's not worth trying to save things. The problem is was soon as the hit ur system they start searching for new sources of food. Monti's, digi's anything in the familly. I even seen one on one of my deepwater acro. But it wasn't eating it. They move quick, one night I did the flash light test and seen a MENudi on the glass it moved 10" in 7 min. So they can get around.

As for time needed to make sure they r gone out of ur system. All the data i've read says no less then 6 months with out a food source but 9 months is best. I went 6 months and was fine.

Coris wrasse are Not reef safe?
They are. I heard the same thing that they would eat them. They dont. I tried. Trust me. There is no softer easier more gentle way to do this. You need to take all the montis out of you tank and do not reintroduce more for at least 3 months.

Problem with wrasses is they sleep during the night and many pests and scavengers tend to wait until lights out to come out to and feed.

I wouldn't recommend coris wrasses in reef tanks, except for a yellow coris wrasse which is actually not a true coris species.

What is else? Like the etc. Part. I just started sps like 3 months or so ago but idk what other species u ment by ect.
I was trying to google others, many aren't really common in our hobby so most likely you don't have any other varieties. What other SPS do you have?

Ive read that Lemon Meringue Wrasse eat them
This is the type of wrasse I have, was told it was a yellow coris wrasse. Mine didn't touch them. But people do say they have had luck with them. Just toss their food sources. It will save u time or setup a quarintine system.

These guys suck. Ate all of my nice montis. I would use to blast them off of my monti and my yellow coris wrasse would eat them up. Never seen them hunt for them. The nudis won so no montis for me for a while.
