well I just caught my Moorish snacking on my acans.

Maybe if he get some food off those, then transitions to frozen and pellets it's worth the risk. So far I've noticed him picking at the sandbed eating pellets that reached the bottom.

My experience with MI is that it definitely needs a very large tank and needs to be one of the larger fish or the largest in the tank. It needs small but frequent feeding at the beginning.

My experience is that I get it to eat thrive and then I kill it from user error. One of my favorite fish. Make sure to feed ur Balut! Lol

Sadly I had to remove my yellow belly tang as it was getting aggressive towards the Moorish. However the moorish wasn't hiding even when the yellow belly would lash out. It's still only eating pellets so I've been feeding enough pellets for the tank about 3x a day.

How do the sizes compare? IME, the MI will also become a bully when it's the biggest fish in the tank.

Day 5 (or is it 6? I forget) update

MI has taken a liking to acans and some sps. Oh well. But it's still alive and eating pellets with gusto. Also saw it sample some frozen before spitting it out

On another note the cbb has put on some weight from when it first entered the tank. uploadfromtaptalk1409365038738.jpg uploadfromtaptalk1409365127614.jpg uploadfromtaptalk1409365136405.jpg

Looks like you now have a fish only tank.
Well luckily it hasn't found a taste for zoas or clams. My understanding is if I can keep up with feeding then I won't have to worry about much coral loss.

My auto feeder only feeds 2x a day; i need to up the feedings to 4 x a day of pellets.

Another update. Moorish idol is picking off the remnants of the acans it ate. However it's also eating pellets very well. I noticed that anytime pellets hit the wc, it prefers those over acans. So I need to track down another auto feeder so it'll feed pellets 4 x a day.
