^^^ This, I have moved my tank 4 times already this year without recycling,. Try to separate your corals as well, PUT ALL SPS IN THE FIRST BATCH OF WATER YOU TAKE OUT! Then go down the line, Second bucket use for chalices, Use a separate container for any frogspawns you may have, Then one for any soft corals you have after that "mushrooms" etc, Last bucket drop your zoas in as they can have the direst water out of all corals. When setting back up drop sand first and then setup your rock work, fill as much water as you can back in. Throw out whatever nasty water comes up towards the end. This way you are basically just adding a lil bit of new salt mix to fill the rest of tank. Allow to sit and flow for at least 12 hours before you try to add your corals back. Also wait to add your sps last to give the tank some time to stable out a lil. Corals can be keep in bags up 2 4 days but I do not recommend going past 2. Hope this helps.

Wow
So I thought we NEVER wanted to disturb the sandbed?
Last time I left sand in & moved tank.
Bagging fish individually sounds like good plan. When can fish go back in tank in above plan?

you can do that as long as you don't mix it up. I would just use new dry sand with a little of yours in a couple piles on top.

I always add last so that way the tank has the longest time to stable back out in case anything was stirred up throughout the sand.

Bummer John. I hope that's the full extent of loss.

I can come by Sunday or Monday of this week to get your apex up and running again. Let me know what works for you.
