I didn't keep up with my old tank thread on ReefCentral, so i'd like to start fresh on SCR!

Heres my current setup, running for about 8 months now.
AC70 (AC30 Impellor)
  • modded fuge w/ cheato & chemipure blue
  • modded surface skimmer
Biocube Skimmer
2 Koralia Nano 425
25-30 lb Live Rock
20 lb Live Sand

Livestock:
1x Scooter Blenny
1x Lawnmower Blenny
1x Snowflake Oscellaris
1x Skunk Cleaner
2x Peppermint Shrimp
1x Pistol Shrimp
1x Emerald Crab
1x Electric Blue Hemit Crab
1x TINY (what I think is a) Blue/Green Carpet Anemone

About half a dozen assorted hermit crabs.
And all of these corals of course!

I can't get my Snowflake to eat dry food.. I tried flakes, small and medium sinking pellets and the ton of misc flakes from Reefapalooza with no real luck..
I feed the tank once a day with brine shrimp or mysis shrimp mixed with VitaChem.
I slowly drop the shrimp into a powerhead with the pipet a couple times for my clownfish, then I turn off the powerheads and spoon feed my Scooter Blenny, Skunk/Peppermints, Pistol, Acans, Candy Canes, Lobo and Anemone. Nothing special for anything else.

I'm open to any tank input/suggestions/criticisms!

Lookin good :) The blue nem is actually a Ricordia/Yuma. Do you know where the snowflake came from? I have a few that came from Sustainable Aquatics and they would only eat Sustainable Aquatics pellets the first few months til I switched them over to NLS. Might want to give those a try. I can give you some if you swing by sometime. I'm in Garden Grove.

That's what it looks like, right? I have a Green Ricordia also, this is although has similarities, its nothing like this thing.. This guy munches on food, even closes up to eat it, hes moved around my tank, but has been in this position for gee... i'd have to say 3 months now...?

Weirdest thing huh? Long story short, I first got him from when I purchased a white carpet anemone.. He was about a dime size and had a red foot.. I acclimated my new carpet anemone (RIP...filter intake) and when I put him into my tank, this guy fell out from, I'm guessing underneath the flaps, and floated to the sand. I wasn't sure what it was at the time, since it was a little red balled up feller, but he eventually found himself various homes throughout the tank.

It's grown to roughly a tad bigger than a quarter in the time that I've had it.

Yeah! My snowflake IS from Sustainable Aquatics...! Those sneaky bastards bred these clowns to bring in residual income too... LOL
Also, that would be awesome of you! I wouldn't mind picking up a sample of the stuff, hopefully he'll recognize it right away since I don't always have time in the morning to feed. I only feed him once or twice a day between 5-10 PM. I'll PM you sometime this week. :fish:

How weird, looks like a yuma lol. I'll pm you my number. I'm usually home by 5. I have extra. Bought a bunch for mine. I'm sure he'll recognize it, mine still love it even though I don't feed it very often :)

It's only been running for about 6 weeks. What model is the light? I've been thinking about ordering one to try out.

Great job. Has that big tank look in a small package. I love 20L's, they have the best usable footprint out of the nanos IMO.

Hey, it's one of those generic ones off of Ebay or Amazon.

I purchased mine on Amazon, since seller was in CA and I recieved it next day (As opposed to eBay from China or something)

Just look up 165w Full Spectrum on Amazon or eBay plenty for about 100 bucks!

Thanks Smite! I'm trying to get the big tank look.. Thinking about putting a shelf type rock somewhere in here but I can't seem to find the "perfect" one. I think that would complete the left side of my tank  :)
