The clam did this for over an hour. Every 45 seconds for some time and then it would re load, it was squirting a lot of white clouds.

The reason I noticed it, was because a purple acro above in the line of fire lost its tissue during this jiz-a-thon< lol omg! I literally almost peed myself writing that.

Well to explain I was like wtf why is this coral losing its tissue and no other corals are showing distsress.

I had two changes today:

1) the ato dumped a lot of kalk water in the sump because of faulty tubing clamp.

2) I added about 4 cups of high capacity gfo to the reactor.

So I thought I nuked my tank because it was so cloudy and the starfish were going nuts "cookoo for clam milk!"

The reason I said ewwwww was because you didn't see the purple tang eat up half of that wad.

I don't know the settings on this site. They may not allow you to host videos here. vBulletin is not particularly video friendly. Host it on another site and link it here. Worst case let me know via PM and you can email it to me and I'll host in some of my web space.

Solitude said it has a crush on me and that I turned it. I think he smelled my other clam and he got "super excite!"

I don't know but the skimmer went nuts and flooded and it never trips like this. I'm telling you the only time I've seen a cloudier tank was when I started filling it 4 months ago.

It was gross watching all the fish eating it. It's funny the coral that was in the line of fire melted pretty bad. Guess it clogged it's skin.

The coral on the high left you can see discoloration on about 1/3 of it's left side. I wonder if the acro crab inside was okay as it was getting blasted.

In the video that was the 3 to the last time it did it. It was weaker than the 12-20 times it did it before. Mind you the tank is ver turbulent and it was already full of chalky clam gooh.

No it won't nuke the tank. The clam is releasing sperm, that's all. The actual amount of biological matter is probably small - maybe a teaspoon depending on the size of the clam. Your protein skimmer is going nuts because it's all protein :) If it were female, the fish would be gorging on all the eggs.

This is gonna sound far fetched and probably like BS. But as we all know I have lots of time on my hands, and have had many hour staring at my coral and tank lately.

NONETHELESS heres my crock of the day, my Cali Tort turned or is turning more purple. I've been tripping on how un cool the tortuosa was turning ( 2 days ago it was light purple skin) but I guess a lil clam jam helped the old coloration dept. Lets hope my Joe The Coral follows suit, he looks awful. I think in a "nut" shell mother nature takes care of its own.
