my waste line from ro/di keeps running

accordng 2 tds meter.unit is hooked up properly
my storage barrel finished filling,float in barrel shut off
product water but waste keeps running. Anyone know why?guessing it's not normal

shut off the feed to the RO/DI unit when you're not using it...

Could be residual pressure inside the unit....try relieving pressure from the hook-up and see if that helps.

okay if you have a solenoid valve this means that you have a booster pump. this solenoid valve has to be hooked up inbetween the membrane and filters because there is a lot of water pressure if you hook it up before the filters. if you do not have a booster pump then you would need a auto shut off valve. if you dont want to deal with this do what gumbii said... add a valve and turn if off when you are done.

I hooked it up between prefilter & membrane as suggested.
no booster,no auto shut off?thought that's what solenoid did

solinoids are prone to getting residue and clogging up as well or a weak spring trying removing it to see if it isnt clogged if you can be careful they are easily broken

John, what unit do you have? Do you have a 1 1/4 square with four hoses coming out of it above the ro membrane?
