Hey fellas!

Had some questions that i have a hard time finding on all reef forums. Im looking to get a 30 gallon cube. (wish i can go bigger but dont have enough space for one) I need to replace a new 35 gallon advanced acrylic frag tank that i got for something smaller. The wife wont agree to keep the tank since it takes up a lot of space so ive been looking at nano cubes.
Im looking at both coralife biocubes and jbj nanocubes. In terms of reliability, how would these both stack up? What I mean in terms of "reliability", is which one is more leak proof? how is the craftsmanship compared to one another? Im looking to get something that will last at least 10 years.
Hopefully, someone here has owned both to answer this question. btw, im just gonna get the replacement tank, and dont need a canopy for either brand cuz i gonna just use my kessil 160 from my current 10 nano.

Thanks in advance guys!

Personally I don't like the filtration of the biocubes. I would go with the JBJ or if you can fit the extra 4" the IM Nuvo 25 lagoon is a sweet looking tank.

oooo.. the 25 lagoon is very nice! I have heard IM has been having problems with the glass cracking from top down.... then again, i do hear both cubes im looking into has had problems with leaking.
btw, the biocube has a different filtration setup? They both look about the same, other than biocubes two drainage vents.

I have a jbj nano and its great. I do plan on removing the built in filtration and drilling it with an overflow.

I suggest getting a tank build to your needs. Or maybe a Mr Aqua tank drilled with a sump below. But the red sea nano sure is nice.

Thanks for the replies guys! Red sea reefer would be nice, but want something with more ground coverage. I know the 170 has plenty of space, but but it's over my budget. Also, I used to have a 70 with a sump but looking to get something more minimalistic. That's why I wanna go with an aio. Don't have to worry about plumbing or leaks. My main concern is leaks. Correct me if I'm wrong but more parts = more problems. I never really had problems when I had my 70 in college, but I'd hate to go on vacation and then something bad happening.. plus with size issues from the wife.... I decided to go aio xube.

Red sea nano seems to have a very shallow width. That's why I initially got a frag tank, but soon as I brought it home, I got into a scrap with the wife and agreed to get something smaller... sheesh... feels like I'm living with ny parents again being married lol!

The IM 25 lagoon should be fine. Unless I'm mistaken some of the reported issues were the older design IM tanks that are one piece front and sides. The IM 25 uses a much thicker glass. I'd avoid anything with a hood as space is very limited for filtration and heat can become an issue.
