Need some advise on a new crp pak skimmer pump

Well, I bought a crp pak skimmer, which came with a rio 600 plus pump..but I would like to upgrade the pump to something a little bit better....not sure how old the pump is, it does skim okay, but I would like to upgrade....any suggestions? thanks!

Do you have it moded? If you drill a hole on the lip with a bit and a tube to the top it creates more air.

not sure, that's why I kinda wanted to see a picture of it, or at least have a link on how to mod it..but I also like the maxi jet 1200 pump idea

No pic today I have two pumps modded. A Frag gets you one.

On any MJ and on small power heads of similar integrity they have a lip on the intake.

On that intake you drill a small hole and add a plastic bit that has a big side and a small side. Smalll side for the air line. The big side breathes from the movement of the pumps suction on the lip. It creates 3x as much bubbles

I have a needle wheel pump from a Coralife 125 skimmer that would probably work well for you if you want it.

CPR came out with a newer pump that looked like the MJ1200 but more power. I recommend getting that.
