Need some tips on cleaning a used tank.

I just picked up a used 12g Nano Cube, and I want to clean it up as much as possible. For the most part, the tank is clean. But, like all reef tanks, has a caked on layer of coralline algae on the back wall.

I was gonna let the tank run for a day, with a mix of water and vinegar. Rinse it out, run a day of freshwater, rinse it out. Sound good?

Any other tips or suggestions?

Vinegar + RO water and a powerhead for a few days.

Use Kent scraper and vinegar with some water should nt need to let it soak in less it's real bad

vinegar use a lot freshwater should be fine no need rodi

+1 soak it and use a plastic scraper if neccesary or a razor blade carefully not to scratch

Thanks everybody. I just mixed in vinegar and water, letting it run over night. Its not THAT bad, actually not bad at all. I just want it clean as possible.

Coo thanks. I mixed 1 gallon of vinegar, and the rest water. I've got 90% already off!

Clean enough. And in about 5 hours!

Tomorrow, rock and sand...maybe I'll start a thread.

Good call. Its still full of freshwater. Ill empty it in the morning, and maybe rock & sand on Saturday or Sunday.
