This is for the IT/Apex users. My apex is located downstairs closet and my modem and router is located upstairs. I tried setting up a netgear router as an extender or repeater (don't know what's the correct terminology) but for some reason it is not working with my ATT router. So I started searching the Internet and came across netgear Powerline 1200. Now I don't need anything this powerful so what is a happy medium to connect the apex to the home network so my iPhone apex app will work?

Just hook up your net gear adapter to a laptop and set it up to connect to your WiFi. Then unplug it and hoot it up to you apex.
Well I have 3 router. One from att then netgear router used as a bridge for the dead spot on the other side of the house. Then the d link router downstairs that connects to the apex. Just too many router and thought Powerline will be cleaner and better connection.

if hes running Ethernet cable to other units then a Ethernet cable from the 2nd unit to the apex it could be causing a problem with the different IP's, you might need to go into the 2nd controller ( Router ) and give it the same IP as the Apex it self. But if the 2nd controller is running off WIFI then its best you just to use a Netgear Wifi adapter on the APex.

I plugged my first unit into the wall by my router and hardwired it, the second unit is plugged into the adjacent wall and wired to my apex...

I am not a network specialist but I believe my buddy programed netgear as a repeater and the d link downstairs connected to apex talks to the netgear. So when I see my wifi network I see wifi 1 which is att router and wifi 2 the netgear. But I think will go w Powerline. It is just easier for a noob like me.
