Hello everyone, we are clownfish breeders in Bakersfield and just joined this forum and figured we should share our journey with you all as well as other forums we maintain throughout Cali.......Lets start with some pics and a list of what we have so far......
8 pairs so far with more coming
Super high grade Picasso's
GSM's
Mocha O's
Aussie B&W's
ORA Domino paired with ORA Brown Saddleback
Melanopus
True and false Perc pair
Black Ice misbar paired with Snowflake (still babies but paired and active)
Will be goin after some serious Hybrids VERY SOON, so stay tuned for those

Our setup as of now is.......
2-55g breeding tanks (one four section and one three section) both running off a 55g sump, will soon be adding three more 55g tanks for more pairs.

1-20L w/20L sump for the pair of Black Ice and Snowflake until they can handle a full blown breeder tank and its current.

Also will be adding 4 maybe 6 30g tanks all divided for grow out and grade seperation, they will be plumbed to a 55g sump just for those tanks.
We dont have a fancy camera yet so please excuse the pics for now, but here is what we got so far....

And thank you, we are pretty proud of our fishies, I think we have more pics of them then we do our 5 daughters!!

Gumbii is now at the bottom of the list for clowns :eviltongue: J/K haha
We will have tons of babies for sale , hopefully sooner than later, we have a small fortune invested in these crazy fish. They are worth every penny, even if we never got one baby from them :thumb:

This is our first shot at clown breeding and tons of local help from breeders that have had major success. It is a stupid amount of work, but my fiance and I share the passion and we are both involved 100% in the whole thing. We have our moments of stress but it is worth it and the joy that comes from it far outweighs the stress. Our girls love the fish too so its really a family adventure in our house ;)

We are pretty sure our Mocha O's will be laying eggs ANY day now, we will keep this thread updated and as current as we can.......stay tuned, lots more to come.

We maybe working a deal with the current owner of the Lightning Maroon to be first inline for some offspring. That would be super cool and we cant wait for some of those :D

Two new pairs coming today and two single females to find mates for........oh the possibilities ;)

One pair is Snowflakes and the other pair is Maroons (white stripe)
The two females are a B&W O and a Really pretty True perc that looks more like an Onyx

Pics will go up tonight after we get them home and acclimated.

i'm walking away from breeding.. i have an onyx pair and a platinum x true perc pair.... throw me an offer...

platinum x true perc pair are BREEDING... and lay regularly...

Well, we made it back from LA and we are very happy with our new additions to The Clown Factory. Ended up being a beautiful pair of Snowflakes and looks like the male may end up more of a Black Ice than just a Snow?? Hope so, but we will see. The Maroons are gold stripe not white and they are both really pretty fish and mama is HUGE!! The single B&W female is nice and dark and will be a great mate for the lucky little guy that she gets paired with. Last but not least was the Female True Perc, she is a Solomon Island coloration and has amazing colors. We ended up spliting our True/False pair and paired the true male from that pair to the new female True Perc, it took about a whole minute and they were done and daddy was twitching away and trying to get her to the pot.....Think it was love at first sight for those two. The female False Perc has a new home in my reef tank and will get a friend shortly. All the new fish are happy, healthy and ate while being acclimated, they didnt stop unitl they looked like they were all gonna pop!! dont think they will mind getting four or five meals a day around here like the rest of the breeders :D
Gotta sleep now, we will post pics tomorrow......well later today, whatever!!
