Gooli, I was bb once...dream setup is bb with remote deep sand bed. My fuge just isn't big enough to hold enough sand. Thanks!

scissorhand, the lights sit like that normally. I never had a canopy just too much on top of the stand and tank. The thing would be like 8' freaking tall altogether.

thanks everyone for your comments!

very nice tank! cross hatch pair is sweet!!!! how is your orange shoulder with the other fish? had one and it was pretty aggressive.
yeah, the crosses are cool, but I think someday I might sell off the female. she's a little bit of a handful.

the orange shoulder is the perfect tankmate, no problems at all. i think the trick is not having another tang with that similar body style. thanks!

Beautiful tank Acropora. I love all the fish. My goal for my 300 is to have a huge bioload :D

Can you provide some info on your system? I also have a 6' tank but 3' wide. I am trying to decide whether the Dart return plus a Tunze Wavebox is enough flow or if I need to add more Tunze Streams. Trying to avoid that as much as possible. Also, do you think the Crosshatch pair is too big for a tank that size b/c I would love to get a pair. Thanks.
oh wait, did I say 6x2x2, I really meant 8x2x2. sorry brainfart :p
so it's a 240g with a Iwaki md70rlt high presssure return pump. I have two tunze 6100's on a 7095 controller and another tunze nanostream 6045, soon to get another. i hate the streams for one reason only, just to big. I tried the wavebox on my tank and truthfully it didn't work well, imo a taller tank is better for the wavebox. the wavebox itself won't be enough, personnally next time i'm going with a closed loop. do you have some streams now? far as the pair, i had them in my old 180 which was 6x2x2 (must have been thinking of that before) and if it wasn't so crowded with corals it might have been just enough. since your's is deeper i would think it be okay. a pair is a handful - one is enough really.

any regrets having sand in there? it is an acrylic tank right?
Nope, not at all. from my 180 to now in my 240 i started with ssb, went bb and back to sand with dsb + remote fuge sand bed.

It is an acrylic tank, but I am super careful about scratching it. I rarely wipe the outside and do the inside panes every 4 days or so when it starts to get dusted with algae.
