As some you already know, I am in the process of setting up my 300 gallon reef in my garage. First of all, a big thanks goes out to SteveOhh and his bro for helping me to haul this bad boy home

The main display is an acrylic tank with dimensions of 72"Lx36"Wx27"T for a total of 300 gallons. The sump was a 6 foot long 120 gallon acrylic tank that I cut down to just a hair over 5 feet so it'll fit inside the metal stand with a total volume of about 100 gallons. I will be adding a 150 gallon oval tub on the side to be used as fuge/prop tank. Depending on how much more I am allowed to spend, I may add another prop tank in the range of 100-130 gallons

I just finished putting in the baffles in my sump last night and a couple more quick items and I'll be able to leak test the main display and sump hopefully by this weekend. The tub will be added later on. Anyways, here are a bunch of progress pix. Thanks for looking.

The entire system jacked up about 7 inches so the dispaly is more at eye level instead of me having to stoop. It's getting harder in my old age :D

Well, that's it for now. I am hoping to leak test and if everything is good, the tank/sump will be filled sometime next week. The plan is to have about 350 gallons of NSW delivered initially. I don't want to be making that much water off the bat. Of course, I still have to get all the lighting components. Yay, more money to spend.

Wow good job..what did you use to paint the back of the tank. It looks really clean. And man the sump looks professional. Good job. Are you keeping the tank in the garage? What type of lighting are you planning for that beast?

Thanks Mike. It's not actually paint. It's an adhesive back that's applied like window tinting called Color Works made by BlueLife. I don't have to worry about salt creeps like I would have with other backing that's taped on.

Yeah, it's gonna stay in the garage, right where it is right now. I am planning on running 3 250W DE bulbs (most likely Phoenix 14K) in SLS Lumenmax 3 pendants driven by SLS Galaxy E-ballasts. The MH will be supplemented with 2 6' T5HO's behind and 2 6' T5HO's in front overdriven with IceCap E-ballasts.
