Well, it looks like the lone remaining purple tang is finally over the ich. At least not everything died =(

Here is something new I picked up last weekend. A gigantic efflo colony. It's about 10-12" across in diameter. The purple tips are really coming in nicely. From what I understand, it was completely tank grown and the owner brought it in to the LFS when the tank was broken down. It was completely brown couple of months ago. I see lots of potential there.

Oh yeah, in case anyone feel the need to point it out, I know I have a flatworm problem :D Still trying to figure out ways to take care of them.

Thanks Brock. FWE has never worked for me. They always came back when I used them on the smaller tank. I'll try a couple of the Mandarins again. I lost the others when all the fish died in the tank.

Whew!!! Went away for 3 days and the tank is still in one piece  I don't even have an auto topoff yet. Had to rig up a dosing pump for make up water. Luckily this isn't during the summer, otherwise, the dosing pump won't be able to keep up with the daily evap.

Cool looking tank, Kenny. I am just starting the conversion of my 135g to a 300g so I have been reading through this thread with great interest. Nice work on the plumbing. It gave me a couple of ideas for mine.

Thanks Dave. I tried to keep the plumbing as simple as possible. Congrats on the upgrade. You'll love the extra real estate and the endless possibilities for aquascaping.

Tom, the electric bill hasn't really gone up that much yet. Part of it is that we are no longer running the A/C. I still have some more lights and other equipment to put up. I think the true test will be next summer, then I can make a real comparison.

New shots of the tank from last night. The aquascaping is pretty much done. I am happy with the way it all came out. You can't really see the two separate islands because the sandbed is littered with frags. But once they are gone, they are divided by a channel.

Thanks John. Yeah, most of the algae went away slowly as the tank goes through the cycles. I only have a few patches left. I've been pulling the longer stuff out and then the tangs would take care of the rest. No, no T5's yet. I won't be for a while. LMK whenever you want to swing by.
