I am running a diablo xs200 on my 150g mixed reef with total water volume 240g. its a bad *** skimmer but requires a high water line to make it work good. I had a custom sump made for the baffle to be 10" for consistent water level.

this is only after 3 days of skimming

Do it! Do it! I just picked up the Diablo/Extreme xs225 last week and its a beast. Within a couple hours it was pulling gunk. Probably a little over kill for my 80g with total volume of about 100g but what the heck I'll be ready when I upgrade to a 120g which is inevitable :dance3:

Don't get the reef octopus sro skimmers if you want high water levels. It runs best at 5.5-6'' and I'm barely getting away running it at 8-8.5''. Any higher and it's just going to overflow.

I have a super reef octopus and I guarantee that u will not need to upgrade it. Talk to john at advanced acrylic. He can build u a clean acrylic stand for like $20. That's what I did for mine

Ask Chris (pgr11). He upgraded from a CADLights to a SRO5000 and he LOVES it

yeah was looking at your post on cleaning the the sump and seen your skimmer.. would like to go with it now but for my 120 way over kill even when its good to overkill hehe... figure the xs 200 can handle what i need maybe do the xs250 considering sump and total gallons hehe .. once i get the green light for a big boy's tank then i will go SRO or if i score a good deal heheh there is always that =)
