I am not sure how the settings should be, but I have the Reef Keeper Elite and I know, there is an actual pump mode. I would make sure they are the "controllable" koralias, otherwise it is not good for them to be started and stopped continuously. It will burn out the motors.

I heard that they don't slow the motor down, they actually turn it off and on. I am not sure if this is true, but if they turn off you will get significantly less motor life than if they just slowed it down and sped it up.

If you look at the Vortech pumps, that is what they do... Slow the motor down and then speed it up, to get the desired affect. I am not sure even with the Koralia controller if it does this?

I think you need the aquasurf module if you want to slow them down and then speed them up. They work for tunze, but I'm not sure if they work for koralias.

does anybody know how to control a korallia 750 pump with a aquacontroller jr. i just want it go on/off every other minute
I got mine to go on for a min every 10 mins. I believe on the setup menu it has like a interval mode. you will only see like 1/10 meaning 1 min every 10 min. I will check my controller and get back to you with specifics.

I am sure it has a delay setting. Pretty much every controller has one. It is probably as Bkoo said, under a general "Pump" setting or something.

I considered buying the Koralia controllable powerheads with controller but I ended up going with the VorTech MP40 because I wasn't sure the Koralia system slowed down the powerheads or turned them off/on. I know my old Koralia's rattled/chattered when they turned off/on.....BUT....I love my new MP40! This things rocks my entire 90gal. :)

So, after scouring the net for a while. It seems that the Koralia Controllables are able to slow down the prop rather than turning it off completely. The problem is that you have to use the actual koralia wave controller to do it. You can't connect it to another type of controller or it will just shut the pump off and on.

The rattle that everyone hears is when they start up is the magnet trying to sync up with the magnet spinning inside the pump itself. It usually bounces around for a bit (which is what you hear) before it connects in the right spot and begins to spin normally.

I will warn you that if you do use the on/off cycle rather than the slow down and speed up cycle the motor in the koralia will not last as long.

As for my own tank... I had 3 koralia pumps 2 Koralia 2's and 1 koralia 3. My display looked so cluttered with cords and pumps and whatever. I finally bit the bullet and picked up a Vortech MP40w and with just the one pump I was able to get rid of every other koralia in the display. It was well worth the money and IMO a great investment.

yeah i did run a vortech mp40 on my 60 gallon tank and for such an expensive it made alot more noise compared to my korallias. which was the reason for me to go back to my korallias my tank is right next to my bed so it has to be quiet

But I think he is just talking about the regular controllable koralias? Unless those are what they are called?

I have the evolution 1050 and U have had it on a my apex running 10 sec on and 20 off. with no problems. Hydor does say that is can be on a timer as well. for the price they work well. I am looking for a DIY poser supply for the 12 volt pumps that I can use a 0 to 10 volt controller to have more control with the var-speed ports of the apex...:)
