What are your opinions on this ? I have seen other people's tanks with both Tangs in them , what do you think ? Will they fight ?

yes

IME, purple tang is a little more aggressive than yellow.

There are always individual personalities, but most Ive seen put a larger yellow 1st, smaller purple tang in LAST...

That is exactly my situation , my Yellow is slightly bigger and is already in my 125 , I'm just being extra cautious with my Purple !

I had the opposite experience. I had both the same size about a year ago together in my 150g. they were fine for about 3 months then the yellow started bullying the purple to the point where I caught it with my bare hands on the water line because it was so exhausted from being chased. I sold the purple just before it got worst.

I had them in a 90 and they would tangle sometimes bit sometimes they were the best buds. Sadly my skinny yellow guy passed from my wrasse going Hannibal Lecter on him.

WTF, OMG I miss one day of mysis and he eats his tank mates. Sheeeeeesh!

It's dependent on the individual fish.

I have a yellow, sailfain & purple together and they get along fine.

First the yellow went in, then the sailfain and the purple last. The sailfin & yellow always got along. When I put the purple in, the yellow and purple fought for a good couple months. Each of them staying on their own side of the tank.

Now they all get along fine.... YMMV

I had the yellow and the Hippo, and when I tore down my tank for fumigation, I added a purple to the hotel tank. None of them had a territory yet, so the purple and yellow got along fine. to be safe, since you will be adding a purple to the yellows territory, put the purple in a breeders box/breeders net for a week or so to try and let them get used to each other... Clifford did that and they get along fine now for him as well.
