My PT looked like she was on death's door on wednesday morning before I left for work (heavily covered in ich, leaning motionless against the sponge filter) but she is looking much better now. I've been treating with cupramine. However, I haven't been able to get her to eat. I've tried nori. Formula 2 pellets, and frozen mysis. Any suggestions?

Thanks.

I have to say that I think it's great customer service by fish collection to admit that they had an out break of ich and told everyone and offered to quarantine the tangs or everyone even after purchasing.

I didn't buy a tang nor have I been to fish collection but now I'll definitely stop by and check out the store.

Sorry the hear the bad news, guys.

Got three from Jimmy last Friday evening, one for myself and the other two for friends. One died last night and the other one is still kicking. Mine is happily cruising in the hospital tank and chomping away whatever nori I can supply.....lucky me.

I tried another piece of nori thing morning and my PT took to it this time. I think he will pull through and will go into the DT in a few weeks.

My purple tang died last night after treating with ich-x for 10 days. I just don't get it as she was eating well until the day before yesterday. She just quit eating all of sudden. During the 10 days continuous treatment, the ich never went away though........

Man, it saddens me as I thought for sure she would make it.

I dont know about a good one, he chased my scopas tang and my yellow tang all over the place for the first week. Now they seem to be doing very well. But I did get lucky going the same night they posted the thread

Looking forward to picking up my PT soon too! It was also cool to see Jimmy at the CFM this past weekend. +1 for seeing how the local hobby is doing and hanging out with some of the local farmers

The funny thing is she died pretty fat....Like I said, she ate and ate, and then decided not to eat the day before yesterday and died last night, just like that!

It seems like everyone is having hard time to treat the PT. I would recommend using the prazipro treatment for 2 weeks, then following by another 2 weeks of cupramine treatment. The best thing to do is to turn off the light for 2-3 days so that the PT gets less stressful. Feed it everyday but no over feed so that the water parameter remains optima. If this method does not work, then you are meant not to have PT.

and that is the problem right there. Now I don't QT either and have gotten lucky thus far with healthy fish, but this is not Fish Collections fault by any means. We hobbyists tend to rush things...

Good advice.
