question about par meter

Hi guys, I dont have experience about the par meter. I just have a question. Does the movement of the water surface will affect the par meter calculate? Becuase I have the Giesemann 150w 2 MH 20k and 4 T5, but I only see the par at the top for only 300 maximum? Give me some advise guys/

If I remember correctly it does not effect it.

believe the effect is very minimal and will not affect the reading.

so its weird because its only 300 at the top with 4 t5 and 2 mh 150w 20k. Also, when i measure above the water surface, its like 800 to 2000 near the MH buld. So what is wrong though
