So here's my new 50g cube, John at Advance Acrylic did a rush job for me. Since the 25g he built for me, is crushing the dresser i put it on. But it looks like he spend a week building it, top shelf work for sure!

I went with a 24"x24"x18" cube with a coast2coast overflow, the full 24"x18"x4" back of the tank. 2-3/4" returns in the wall, and 2-1" drains.John polished the tank making the rounded corners and edges look perfectly smooth and clear.

I also had him build a matching sump, it looks so nice I want to put fish in it! I went with a 3 chamber design, first one is the skimmer section with a reef rubble bubble trap. That flows in to the center return pump section, with probes and ato float mounts. The third section is a 24"x18"x5" eurobraced fuge that drains in to the center return section.

Looks great!... just wondering when the water falls from the Refugium, won't it creat bubbles in the return pump section?

Sent from my iPhone
One drain is dedicated to the fuge so i can valve it down to prevent bubbles in the return. Say 25% to fuge and 75% bypass to skimmer

One drain to the skimmer section via the reef rubble bubble trap, that goes to the center return section. The second drain goes to the fuge via a bypass so I can control the flow to the fuge and send the rest to the bubble trap. The fuge then drains to the center return section.

I don't like using a sock when I don't have too, I rather run the drain thru reef rubble to break up the flow. Plus you get more bio.

ahhhh so the side that looks like a c2c is your refugium? the the return is right next to it (center), the black box on the other end is your regular tank drain right?

Hmm well I think mine are the stock lenses... And I don't have any spillage out the sides so the stocks work great for my tank
